We have collected a wide range of old and new Vermont maps - mostly old - and assembled them in easy-to-use packages. The maps include the early Colonial maps made before Vermont existed, the very important and rare Blodget and Whitelaw maps, early postal route maps, railroad maps and modern state maps to help you compare old and new.

The latter in the last column of the list indicates the smallest paper size for legible printing (see below).

The capital letter in the last column indicates the smallest paper printout size for legibility. The maps are all designed for printing in "C" size (18"x24"), but many are legible at "B" size (11" x 17"). The most detailed maps require printing on "D" size ( 24" x 36") for full legibility.
This means that if you purchase the "B" sized color prints (11"x17"), most maps will be legible, but that 4 older maps (1789, 1796, 1810 and 1821) will be hard to read ("C") and the 1860 and 1902 maps will be of almost completely illegible.  We recommend that you purchase the CD as well as the 11" x 17" color prints.
